The Piemonte region

Piemonte (also knows as Piedmont), in Italy’s northwest, is renowned for its exquisite wines and culinary treasures. Nizza Monferrato, a gem in the heart of Monferrato, is celebrated for Barbera d’Asti, offering rich flavors and a deep winemaking tradition. Barolo, revered as the "King of Wines," originates from the picturesque Langhe hills, where vineyards blanket the landscape. Alba, famous for its white truffles, is also a hub for premium wines, including Barolo and Barbaresco. Asti, synonymous with the sweet, effervescent Asti Spumante, is a vital part of Piemonte’s diverse viticulture. Together, these areas showcase Piemonte's unparalleled oenological and gastronomic heritage, making it a must-visit region for wine lovers and food enthusiasts.

ABOUT

The Wine

These areas produce wines of international quality and excellence – such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti Spumante and Barbera d’Asti. The Villa is in the heart of Nizza Monferrato classified by UNESCO, an area of dissemination and cultivation of the Barbera grape. The area also contains important examples of wine culture, including the Museum Bersano, and is characterized by the town of Nizza Monferrato, identified as the “capital” of Barbera.

Nizza DOCG, the “super” Barbera. After a minimum aging of eighteen months, the first bottles of Nizza DOCG were ready in July 2016. It is a “super Barbera,” vinified in purity and coming from a restricted area of the Monferrato in the hills around the homonymous city of Nizza. This is the vineyards viewed from the house.
